Day 5 at home

A little exercise session with Joe Wicks on YouTube. He’s rather cute and sounds like an Essex boy. Took a while to get started – you guessed it- phone calls. But don’t mind a bit of P.E. especially if I’ve had a coffee or two. Fortunately remembered I had to pay a bill and hadn’t managed to do it online a couple of days ago. Couldn’t do it today either. Kept getting locked out of my a/c as I got to the end. Phoned my bank, long wait there. Guy tried to talk me through it but no go. Made payment by phone and I’ll have to wait till next bill to see if it works. You’re all gonna be impressed because I cleared and tidied a wardrobe. Even put some things in the charity bag. As I needed some milk I drove to Lidl at 8.30 pm, wore my mask and latex gloves (and clothes). Usually ok that late but a few younger people around and not being careful with distancing. Still I growled loudly in their direction in a friendly sort of way and they soon moved away. Also bought ice cream and biscuits. Someone will have to roll me out when the time comes. Sleep tight don’t let the bug bite 💤😴💤

Not going out Day 4

And I didn’t – go out that is. Neither did I start my day with wake up exercise. Result – low energy. Had a phone call before coffee, my brain finds this confusing. Then I pottered around in PJs drinking strong filter coffee. No idea what I did. Later I cut my toe nails but only on one foot. Tomorrow’s another day. I thought I might take an exercise walk but decided to make a start on my balcony instead. Good plan, I sorted my plants and got the primulas in pots, lovely and bright. I got rid of a whole lots of dead stuff from last year and felt a hell of a lot better for it. How do I feel now? To quote Scott & Bailey somewhere between fabulous and shit. Sleep well all you loners. 💤😘💤😴

Home alone Day 3

Definitely better than yesterday. I started day 3 with 3 minutes and 3 seconds of wake up exercise. I bet you didn’t expect that 😮 Coffee in hand I got my first phone call, a blast from the past who had thought about me. This is starting nicely. I did a bit of tidying and dusting (housework?) while chatting, mainly about him. Alexa, play some disco music please. My To Do list was calling so I wrote a letter by hand – no, you’ll have to wait till the postman has been to find out if it’s for you. I danced on the balcony to I Believe in Miracles but, sadly no sexy thing came along 😢 then came Stayin Alive 🎶 Alexa has some weird sense of humour. You’ve seen the pics, I went for a walk to post my letters. It’s eerily quiet downtown. Good to be out though, more exercise. Back in time for BoJo but he didn’t appear and a phone call interrupted most of the update. 8.02 pm I remembered about clapping for our wonderful helpers. Back to the balcony but sadly it was just me 🤨. Maybe next time. Night night mañana is another day.

Staying at home – Day 2

Almost too embarrassed to post today. My To Do list is even longer but sadly not even one item moved to the dones (another word I just made up). The trouble is the phone. My sister in Australia had a birthday today, 75 long years and she’s still younger than me. I phoned her and that set off a virtual avalanche of calls. I enjoyed most of them. Some video calls, grandchildren, step children, friends, calls from virus stricken Madrid and a hoax call that may have wished he hadn’t bothered. No walk, no painting and obviously no housework. I’ll try to do better tomorrow. Hope you all had a productive day.

Day 1 in isolation

I soon got bored with housework so made some phone calls. Checked FB, sent a couple of emails. Decided to pop into town to buy some potting compost for my balcony pots. Wilko only half open, front section but a member of staff brought me what I wanted. Back home I decided to clean shower cubicle. Needed a rest so sat with a cup of tea and read a bit of Michelle Obama. Time now to listen to BoJo. Somehow I don’t think I’m writing a bestseller 😇
