The government is trying to come up with a plan to keep its citizens happy over Christmas and the four UK nations have backed plans to allow some household mixing for a few days. On 2nd December when the current lockdown finishes, the PM announced there would be a tougher three tier system. I believe that’s what we had before the current measures and having a quick read it looks very similar. Good news for some people is that from this weekend Christmas tree sellers are allowed to operate. So if your thing is to have the natural tree you should be able to pop out and get one. It’s all been a bit haphazard as usual as garden centres and supermarkets have been selling them throughout lockdown. My nan used to say ‘he or she will never go mad, they change their mind too often’. Who does this remind me of.
The largest family in Britain (I think) Sue and Noel Radford who have 22 children have also said they will be putting up their Christmas decorations this weekend. I love that family, as apart from seemingly bringing up a great bunch of kids they run their own bakery and don’t claim any benefits. They also don’t believe in credit cards so save all year to make sure they can afford gifts for everyone. All that buying and wrapping and 22 Xmas stockings. Sue has posted photos in the past and it is all very impressive. She said the most difficult part is hiding all the presents in the run up to the big day. I don’t think I would remember what gift was for which child.
My son and daughter-in-law have both tested positive for Covid so they are in quarantine with Christian and Jessica. I’m sure they’ll find plenty to keep themselves busy. Peter will be working from home, Claudia will be organising the house and everyone in it as well as home schooling Jessie, Christian has his piano, games programming and finding new recipes and Jessie will be keeping in touch on her tablet and building Lego creations. And I almost forgot, so far so good they aren’t feeling too bad, just a lack of taste and smell and a normal cold. Let’s hope it stays that way.
I’m getting bored with lockdown, so much so that I have actually watched the first couple of episodes of Friends. Never seen it before except for snippets when I’ve been with family and the grandkids have had it on. It’s not the worse thing I’ve ever seen although at the moment I’m not excited about anything I try watching.
Last month a Banksy painting appeared on a wall in Nottingham It was of a girl hula hooping with the wheel rim from a bicycle. Next to the mural was a rather sad looking bicycle with one wheel missing. The theme was a knock to the city’s history of manufacturing Rayleighs. The artwork had already been targeted with spray paint and this weekend the bike was stolen. Lock ’em up I say. Good night everyone. 😴💤😴
