News from the US is that on Monday Democrats will circulate an article of impeachment charging President Trump with “incitement of insurrection”. 180 members of congress have co-signed the article. Many Republicans have said that they will also consider any articles of impeachment if the President does not resign. One thing seems clear, if any other person had incited the type of violence seen on Friday they would by now be in prison. Lock the man up, he broke the law, it really is that simple.
The man who took Nancy Pelosi’s lectern during the riots has been arrested in Florida. Another man was seen on TV saying he would shoot her in the head. The man at the head of QAnon far right extremists who was filmed in some sort of horned head gear and carrying a 6ft spear with a flag tied just below the blade has also been arrested . They are suspected of planning to take hostages. A woman rioter with blood running down her face was seen on TV by her teenage daughter who didn’t know she was in Washington. When the teen had wanted to travel to the capital to take part in the BLM protest, her mum said she shouldn’t go because it could be dangerous. The mum had got into an altercation with a black, female police officer from whom she had grabbed a phone and in return been punched in the face. The daughter said her mum had been brainwashed by white extremists. Difficult to see why anyone would be taken in by that type of rhetoric but then Hitler managed to persuade a large portion of Germans. I think it’s going to take more than Joe Biden to quieten this lot down.

The message said “wishing the Duchess of Cambridge a very happy birthday today! Happy Birthday HRH” Doesn’t sound all that sweet to me. No ‘lot’s of love’ or loving emojis. Just something posted by her secretary.
The Sussexes have quit social media closing all their accounts. Oh dear, will we miss them? no I don’t think so. Can I repeat Melania’s jacket again? “I really don’t care, do u?”
Spain has been hit by storm Filomena and is seeing more snow than in the last 50 years. I was in Spain then in 1971 and I remember some quite heavy snowfalls but it didn’t hang around long. Of course, Madrid is surrounded by mountains where people have been known to ski but not often. The pictures of the capital and other areas certainly look very dramatic covered in white.
And last but not least, in Staffordshire a couple of burglars were going about their trade. While committing the crime one of the two men sat on his phone and pocket dialled 999. The police answered the call and realised what was happening. They labelled the men ‘the world’s unluckiest burglars’. Hey, let’s be careful out there. 😴💤💤😴
