The news this evening was all about the vaccine rollout and how quickly it’s going and how much quicker it’s going to get. The PM was almost sounding chipper when he came on TV. Anyway, I can’t argue with his prediction as I had a very exciting phone call today and I’ll be having my first vaccination on Thursday this week. I almost couldn’t believe it because I had expected to wait until mid February. I’ve heard about a few people who don’t intend having one even if offered, they’ve been listening to the FaceBook School of Medicine I think and believe all the tales being spread about bad reactions. Same people who think that the virus is a conspiracy between governments and Bill Gates.
We’ve had the fake news about empty hospitals and therefore no sick people but I haven’t heard any nurses or doctors saying anything similar. All the medical staff I know have a very different story and it’s also been completely debunked by the media and scientists. The conspiracy theorists spend a lot of time in Bournemouth centre trying to convince people and get signatures for something or another. On Saturday a woman was filmed while supposedly being arrested for sitting on a bench. In fact it seems she had been taking part in an illegal protest, being part of a gathering which hadn’t maintained social distancing and hadn’t worn a mask. The photo opportunity had been very well stage managed.
Should I talk about Trump? Yes, but just to say what I’m sure you all know, that the Democrats have introduced an article of impeachment against The President for ‘incitement of insurrection’. And the outgoing FLOTUS has condemned the riots last week in the Capitol but says she has been the victim of salacious gossip. She was just busy taking part in a photoshoot in the White House. A few selfies for the future, no doubt and for a coffee table book she will be writing. Oh dear, no one understands her. To quote the jacket once more ‘I really don’t care, do u’.
Brexit was never going to be easy, especially for people wanting to travel – no problem perhaps for those who don’t even hold a passport. Our poor truck drivers though have come across an unexpected hurdle. They’ve been stopped at the Hook of Holland and had their lunch confiscated. Now we all know that many Brits just don’t trust all that foreign food and because of that our drivers have taken their sarnie with them. And it wasn’t that it looked so unappetising wrapped up in a scrappy bit of tin foil that it was taken away, no, it was the filling that caused the problem. The EU will not allow you to bring in any form of meat or dairy products and that includes your ham or cheese sandwich. So you either eat it it before you arrive or you buy something tasty on the continent. I know which one I’ll do. Now let’s be careful out there. 😴💤💤😴
